Light and refreshing. It's like a mix between a pound cake and a sponge cake. The strawberries go extremely well with the overall flavors. Interesting texture-- almost cornbread-esque. -Garry
Really good. The strawberries were very flavorful. If anything, I'd try to make the cake part slightly tastier - I'm not sure what it would require, but it didn't seem particularly memorable. Possibly moister?
Gonna call this one a success. Excellent balance of sweetness, as I don't like my frosting too thick or sweet. The cake was very rich and moist, though I thought could stand to be a bit fluffier. Perhaps an extra egg? Also, maybe something can be done to reduce the crispiness of the rims of the layers, which I think is good when making strawberry shortcake. -Carl
